Trump and his DOJ knew full well that his Executive Order essentially only has a shelf-life of 20 days and would be illegal thereafter. If it's hit with a lawsuit, it's his and/or the Congressional GOP's fault. Period.

Senior Justice Department official Gene Hamilton confirms the Flores settlement still controls, and that unless Congress or the court acts, the government can only detain families together for "up to 20 days."
