Some points to ponder....
The St. Louis City Police Board of Commissioners granted a $900,000 settlement payout for the widowed girlfriend/fiancée and their child over two years ago.

The officer in question was suspended for 30 days, and during the investigation, resigned prior to being fired.

The officer in question was carrying his own personal AK47 and rounds can in the police car, in violation of protocol.

Following his shooting of Smith in the rental car, the officer in question returned to the squad car, opened a duffel bag, and was filmed rummaging through the bag and extracting something. He then returned to the rental car of the deceased, with a clotting kit in his chest pocket, determined that Smith had expired, and commenced a search for the silver handgun. After finding the revolver, he returned to the squad car, removed his gloves, extracted the chamber and rounds, rendering it safe. Note that he did not use the clotting kit, his only reason to return to the squad car.

Lab examination found only the officer's DNA on the revolver, and his DNA underneath a recessed screw on the body of the gun, along with only fingerprints of the officer.
