Innovations in health care are independent of the delivery of health care services, dimwit. Both my daughter and her husband are biomedical engineers involved in the design of pacemakers and renal implant devices, but their companies (Boston Scientific and Medtronic) don't deliver health care. For that matter, some of the greatest advances in modern medicine (e.g., medical imaging, advanced diagnostics, pharmaceuticals) have been done in Germany, a country with socialized medicine.
