It's about the Ho-229, a prototype stealth fighter-bomber. The story details Northrop building a full-sized test mockup to check out how stealthy it actually was. Enough to make a big difference--it could have hit Britain's radar sites with less than 3 minute's warning. It's a good thing they ran out of time on this one....
Never heard of this one before. Designers apparently didn't have stealth as a design goal--they were working to Goering's 3x1000 spec: 1000 KPH speed, 1000 KM range, 1000 Kg bomb load.
