They got folded into DOE when it was created in 1977 under Jimmy Carter. I still get letters from DOE (I retired from there over 2 years ago) with dosimetry information from past visits into radiologically contaminated areas, including Mound (and many others). The
Mound site is now mostly just a green field after extensive environmental rehab work there.
