And you're indeed clueless if that's what you took from my post. Having lived in Texas for over half my life now, I like the idea that it was LBJ who banished the remnants of the planter class and their minions from the Democratic Party, which is in effect what he did by signing the acts. I also find it a bit ironic that the party of Lincoln accepted them with open arms, although the GOP had more than it's fair share of racists back then too.
