Whether it is blocked by a mask is a factor under human control. An immune response can be boosted, likewise, by measures under human control. So discriminating factors can be introduced, or not, into the equation. Their effect can be measured. The effects reported may be 'politicized data,' but it's plausible to me that they are real effects produced by human decisions, and it's the decisions that are politicized.

It makes it look like there is a geographical barrier to the virus, when this can't be true.
