what's happened is that even with a mom and grandma working there is not enough income to sustain a family. The reason is simple wages are at an all time low in order to keep profits at an all time high.

I had a kid who worked for me 40 hours, went to college and lived at home with his mom, grad mom and little brothers. Grandma received assistance, his mom worked and they qualified for subsidized housing.
See what I figured was wrong was not that they received assistance two ways but rather that the wages they received were so low.

Again it appears I am not way smart like Sarah who understands that hard working folks should live on the street rather than lower the income of the investor class. Heck some Obie socialists even what to make the robber barons socially responsible to the society that provides them such wealth.
Can you imagine?
