I think I'll be leaving after this rant

Let me start off by saying that no one here at PC is the cause for my decision. It's mine and mine alone.

See, I can understand that every so often, it's good to vent. With all the crap being spewed from Washington on a daily basis, it's kinda hard not to vent.

But what's the point? Anything I say or think or do is not going to make the tiniest difference in how things happen. Not to any of you, nor to any of the $%#@heads in Washington. What fun is it to read rants all the time? And debating the issues with friends won't help. All I'd be doing is spouting an opinion that in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean squat. BFD. So why should I get in an uproar over things I can't control? I have to keep my stress levels and blood pressure down.

King George was, IMO, a national embarassment, for various well-known reasons that we all know and loathe. So after his disastrous and destructive reign, it was plain to see that it wouldn't matter who the Repuglicans put up for sacrifice... I mean, candidacy. It wouldn't have mattered anyway. I live in a state that votes Democrat without even thinking.

People wanted change? By God, they got it. I was naive. I thought and hoped that it was going to be change for the better. "Oops." Wrong again!!

What am I angry about? Our new Messiah, Barack Hussein Obama, is ramming a health crusade down our throats that will cut billions from Medicare to subsidize coverage the young... especially the Medicare Advantage programs that my parents love and rely on to save big bucks with tests that cost thousands (nuclear heart scans, anyone?). The cuts have already started: my mom's 2010 premiums will be double and benefits shaved (as shown on the company's web page), and my dad's present plan has been canceled for 2010. He now has a choice of a new plan for ±30% more with another company, or to downgrade to an HMO that requires referrals for specialists. Neither are happy, to say the least. And BHO wants to cut the funding for these plans?? No thank you, Comrade President... my parents cannot afford the 20% co-pays that plain Medicare requires. And as their son it breaks my heart that I can't afford to help them.

No one can convince me that there isn't a plan afoot to kill off seniors!

But... what good does it do to complain? No one will listen. No one cares. No one will fix things so that my folks can live their later years with few worries like they deserve after decades of hard work and sacrifice.

I guess we can thank King George. If he had not started this useless, costly, deadly war for oil, we wouldn't be as bankrupt. The trillions he wasted on Iraq would have been better spent on healthcare.

Like I say, every damn day there's something new to worry about. Costly health insurance reform. Massive debt. A terrible economy. Collapsing currency. Government takeovers of banks and businesses. All without our consent or approval. Hell, they're even mandating the elimination of plain old light bulbs.

Government is becoming more and more and more brazen and intrusive into peoples' daily lives and I am already sick to death of it. But it is only going to get worse and worse. Our "representatives" no longer do our bidding and represent our wishes. It's changed so that now they represent the government to US. That's backwards, and it has to stop.

I am fearful for my family, our lives, your lives, our country. And I don't think that you all want to hear nothing but rants from a frustrated son.

Government is fascinating to me. But the more I see and hear and learn about politics, the more I am physically sick to my stomach.

I'll see most of you elsewhere, and in not such a dark mood, either.
