The judge dropped the 'illegal possession' charge, because minors are allowed to carry that type of gun in Wisconsin for the purpose of hunting.

How stupid ! If Kyle was hunting people during a protest, then he's guilty of murder.

IMHO, that's the only charge that should have stuck.

I watched the prosecution go on and on about how inhumane full-metal jacket bullets are, because they could cause more collateral damage to people in the vicinity of the shooting. He suggested that expanding, hollow tip bullets would have been a better choice. That was so stupid, it seemed to say that Kyle was within his rights shooting the primary targets. He was supposed to be arguing that it was murder.

I disagree with other posters that Kyle was looking for trouble. He was looking for excitement, perhaps, but his intent was to deter the rioting. A Dudley Do-Right complex.
