I see the US going single payer within twenty years because of this. No way around it now. The industries are gonna go to far to the point it will be forced on them.
Most Doctors I know are now talking about organizing somehow to have some muscle to use against the insurance companies.

They already are. Most docs are affiliating with major hospitals for two reasons:
- one, to leverage the hospital's bargaining power
- because services performed within a hospital setting are reimbursed at a higher rate by Medicare
They might as well do it now, though. Once they go single payer, their bargaining power will go to zero.
