Wouldn't that be abrogated their authority?

As bad as it was whenever Shrub invaded Iraq, he managed, by hook or by crook, to get congress to sign off on it.

The military response in Libya was conducted without the approval of congress. I believe that Panetta addressed congress (Sessions) with the response that the military action in Libya was taken on the authority of the UN.

At least I think that is the gist of the matter, and no doubt I could be wrong.

But if I'm right, hasn't the Obama administration not only violated the law of the land, but also subrogated United States law to the will of the UN?

I know, they're all a bunch of Garfields not asking for permission but instead asking for forgiveness...but unlike Shrub, who did ask for permission, the Obama administration just up and did it.

A piss poor precedent if you ask me. Then again I may be incorrect on the particulars.

Feel free to correct any mistakes I may have made in regards to this issue.
