Franklin was recognized as one of the most brilliant men alive. I think he read the French novel from which we got "the pursuit of happiness." He was right about education. Pretty sure he'd see our current system as not good.

Wondering if Burns will touch on our demand for an MP or two was just a delaying tactic so the army being formed to face the rebel crushing BEF the king was sending had time to coalesce, and the logistics needed would have willing providers. Payment to be made later. The leaders of the rebellion knew the 13 united colonies could beat the Brits in a war of attrition and the continent would be theirs for the taking. More for all.
