I guess it will keep everyone's mind off of the fiscal and economic problems there.

I dunno if it'll really change what folks already do, but it may give a dangerous sense of entitlement to actually use them in situations where unwarranted by actual circumstances. The particular hazard is being seen as a legitimate defense for unwarranted use of a firearm.
