Yeah, they've been playing the tapes on the radio here. They're just ugly.
Fouts has been pretty adamant that the voice on the tapes are not his. Folks who know him well claim that the voice "certainly sounds like Fouts".
I'd like to think that no one is capable of talking like this, much less allow themselves to somehow end being recorded saying stuff like this. Also, the "protester crowd" has shown up, and the media has had all kinds of fun making sure they have good video of the protesters yelling all kinds of vile, unhinged crap at Fouts.
Certainly, if it can be determined that it is Fouts on tape, he needs to go. But we're innocent until proven guilty - even Democrats.
Its hard to know what to make of all this, because its also wrapped in politics, and Fouts has politically rubbed some folks the wrong way over the years (witness how quickly virtually no one has come rushing to his defense, including fellow Dems). So, the possibility that these recordings have been digitized and altered to sound like Fouts can't be dismissed either.
This one will be interesting to watch as it plays out.
