The carrying of firearms at marches is more for intimation, only want the free speech from the Right to be heard. Suppressing disrupting eliminating other views by force if need be is the intended optics.
My views on gun restrictions are well know. There should never be allowed any open carry by citizens. Other then on their own private property.
