That's a pretty small number of people most of whom don't bother to vote anyway. Those that do vote mostly vote Democrat anyway. So the Republicans don't have anything to lose by sticking it to them.

GOP health care plan: Influential hospitals, doctor groups come out against House proposal - WP

https://www.washingtonpost.com/power...=.291332fdb243

Looks like the opposition is growing to this misbegotten piece of crap legislation named TrumpCare.

Good.

When will the elected assemblage finally figure the people just want what they have? At the same prices too! What makes them so special????

Geez...... That simple.......

Until the ability to control prices little will be accomplished. As long as the industry pulls the strings of our elected nothing gonna happen.

Just a thought..........

What if way back when, when the AHCA was at it's design stage, the republicans that were in congress had gotten on board and tried to design a decent plan. What if they had tried to make something that would work instead of trying to block, sabatoge and destroy the Act? I wonder what the plan would have looked like?

From what I'm reading, that small number will be older folks aged 50 - 65 who will see their premiums double. Not many people that age can afford 24K a year for health insurance.

Another wealth transfer is what it is. A transfer from all those 401K plans to the 1%.

I wonder what America would look like, if way back in the 80's republicans had worked to make it better instead of trying to block, sabotage and destroy all the good things we had going for us for the benefit of the 1%?

There is only one solution.

Single payer Medicare for everybody.

Anything else is at best a half measure.

And I will not support any more half measures.

Your support of single payer is about as effective as Bernie Sanders'.

I bet if you weren't having to pay $500 a month extra for insurance you would probably not care about single payer.

How is that revolution working out?

You know public option could have included the plan to actually purchase medicare. But
Bernie was too busy inflating the single payer fantasy and chasing the money changers out of Wall Street and right into the Trump Administration.

What I have been advocating all along is Medicare for all.

I already have Medicare. And my wife will go on it next year. So there's nothing in it for me.

So you're blaming Bernie for Trump?

Good. I hope you are right.

I hope all us Bernie supporters that dumped the Democrats did hand it to Trump. You assholes deserved it.

All I'm doing is asking a question. I've voiced no support for it. But you're consistent attempts to put words in other folks mouths is still laughable.

All you guys are doing is posting a same rehash of the Tax Policy Center study. Nothing new here.

And no, Trump and Ryan aren't the only ones support the bill. A number of organizations have voiced their support for it. And there are many out there who would support it with tweaks.

Get your facts straight, please.

Pio1980 03-09-2017 10:59 AM

I would support single payer/ full participation not-for-profit basic health care. There are plenty of successful working system models to adapt to U. S. requirements.

Actions speak louder than words. You had the chance to do just that in the Democratic primary, but you opted instead to vote for Hillary Clinton over Bernie.

Heritage, Tea Party, Club for Growth, Americans for Prosperity, Freedom Works, House Freedom Caucus, Cato, Democrats, GOP senators from Medicare expansion states, AARP (retirees), AMA(doctors), AHA(hospitals), ANA(nurses), Breitbart, National Review, and even your heartthrob Ann Coulter are against it.

Who you got?

Yes, and I would suggest a different analogy would be more appropriate.

One from Nazi occupied France in WW2.

In that one the Nazi's would be the Republicans

The collaborators would be the Democrats.

And we, of the true left, would be the Resistance fighters.

donquixote99 03-09-2017 12:16 PM

As if anyone can be 'of the true left' and love Trump.

You're not the resistance, you're one of the Nazis. You just make funny rationalizations about it.

If Trump says, 'I need my people to turn out with their guns now,' you'd be there, right?

No.

I just say that for show. ;)

I'm looking to sit on the sidelines and root for heavy casualties on both sides.

No joke. Joad somehow thinks that Bernie the Almighty would simply pass single-payer, despite GOP House and Senate majorities. I think that living down in that buggy swamp has given him encephalitis. His self-proclaimed intelligence has now been eaten away to the point where he thinks Trump is smart.

Fighting without results is just pissing in the wind. It is, however, fulfilling to those such as yourself who are entertained by pointless conflict. Congratulations.
