Trump Disgraces America Every Day

Today's example: Steven Bradbury, the "torture memos" man, appears before a Senate committee--because Trump has nominated him for a high position.

Cases like this make an excellent moral litmus test--and a bad show to the civilized world....

Actually, the Dem level of insanity and willingness to deflect and obstruct grows every day, and their selective indignation knows no bounds. This is the same "torture" that Dems had no issues with in 2002.

Four top members of Congress, including now-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, got a close look at CIA overseas detention sites and interrogation techniques in September 2002 and offered no challenge to their legitimacy, according to a news article out Sunday.

On the contrary, at least two lawmakers involved in the briefing that day questioned whether the CIA was pushing hard enough, even after hearing the details of the now widely criticized technique known as waterboarding, two U.S. officials told The Washington Post.

"The briefer was specifically asked if the methods were tough enough," one official is quoted saying.

With one known exception, no formal objections were raised by the lawmakers briefed about the harsh methods during the two years in which waterboarding was employed, from 2002 to 2003, said Democrats and Republicans with direct knowledge of the matter. The lawmakers who held oversight roles during the period included Pelosi and Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) and Sens. Bob Graham (D-Fla.) and John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), as well as Rep. Porter J. Goss (R-Fla.) and Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan).

If those people flunk the test, they flunk the test*. Obama passed the test, Trump is taking us backwards.

donquixote99 06-29-2017 11:41 AM

BTW whell, how about you? Do you think Stephen Bradbury should get the job? Yes or no?

donquixote99 06-29-2017 12:00 PM

Okay, today's second example (I'm afraid there's no actual limit to the number of daily examples).

Today Trump left 'petty and vindictive' behind, far behind....

Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, wrote on Twitter, “Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America.”
I will choke before I can call him Mr. President.

And a spokesman for NBC News, Mark Kornblau, wrote on Twitter: “Never imagined a day when I would think to myself, ‘It is beneath my dignity to respond to the President of the United States.’ ”
Operative words, beneath my dignity says it all for me.

He truly is an embarrassment to every single person in the United States Of America.

Well maybe 'cept the Coke Bros.

Oerets 06-29-2017 03:00 PM

What is just as unsettling, the fact his core supporters love this. What more even expect it, proud of his actions. See nothing at all wrong, get over it no one cares........:confused:WTF!!

SAD!:(

Yes. 'Tweet' is too nice a word for what we hear from Trump. 'Screech' is more like it.

Rajoo 06-29-2017 09:37 PM

I like this paragraph from Times columnist Gail Collins.
Quote:

Every time one of these tweeting disasters occurs, it reminds us that the United States president has no more discernible self-control than a 10-year-old bully who works out his failure to pass third grade by tormenting the little kids on the playground.

This just gets weirder. Trump basically tried to blackmail the Morning Joe anchors...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...onal-enquirer/

Does anyone still believe he didn't try to obstruct Comey? The guy operates like a mob boss.

WaPo and others are making the same mistake Hillary made - trying to beat Trump at his own game, which he always wins. Just ask him.

He doesn't seem to be winning right now. Finally republicans are speaking up about his inappropriate tweets, the White House is in chaos, many appointments are not filled, and he hasn't gotten any significant legislation accomplished.
Sounds like a loser to me.

In The Donald's game, which is the only one he play's, President Trump just scored another point (if he reads your post).

No he doesn't.
There is no game here.
He is the president and he is failing miserably at it.
That he can't figure that out is pathetic and dangerous for our country.
People that give him a pass or make excuses for him only adds to the problem and are just as pathetic and dangerous as he is.

Agreed. He's got the left so wound up (by doing the same thing that the left has been doing for years, by the way) that they can't even see straight.

Chicks 06-30-2017 11:49 AM

This bill doesn't have much of a chance, given the Repubes willingness to ignore Trump's obvious mental issues, but who knows?

Trump is failing by the standards that the left only sets for non-leftists, and exempts themselves from.

Us moderates are getting pretty fed up with Trump's mental illness, as well. Here's hoping moderate Repubes will wake up soon.

Fixed it for you, and your trollish opinion of who is 'wound-up,' and the good of it, is, as always, silly.

Politics is indeed a game played for very high stakes.

Again a BS statement. The media are the ones that is exposing Trump to be a fraud and there is absolutely nothing that the fright wing can do about it. Don't pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel applies except now he also has the social media to contend with.

Picking a fight with lightweights such as the Morning Joe hosts was dumb, very dumb, in fact stupid.

Apparently he has republicans "wound up" too as more of them speak up about his inappropriate behavior.

He is making fools out of his die hard supporters.

Oh, they were fools when they signed up to support the idiot, lol. They're bigger fools for sticking with him after all he's put the country and rest of the world through. I keep telling myself, "he simply can't survive much longer. People really can't be this stupid!" Sigh.

It will be interesting to see what the attitude of republican congressmen is after they get back from the holiday.

I suspect they will get an earful from their constituents at home and will be reluctant to align themself too closely with Trump.

Yeah, I wouldn't count on any Repubes changing their minds because of mere constituents.

Kellyanne is at it again, deflecting.

Here is something on which I hope that DT will take to Twitter in the morning.

Comments by Diego Maradona, Argentine Football great who is currently visiting Russia:
Quote:

Putin is a man who can bring peace to many in this world,” he added, describing the Russian leader as “a phenomenon; simply a phenomenon.”

The legendary Argentinean said he didn’t see US President Donald Trump among the elite, saying, “For me, he’s more of a comic.”

“He’s like a cartoon to me, if we talk about politics… Every time I see him on TV, I switch the channel,” he added.
