Obsession is correct.

It seems like our justice system is more about punishing people than it is about finding the truth in many situations.

I can see why the authorities would want people to forget about Kenny Trentadue. But they went to such great lengths trying to get him to confess to something, and he had no idea what they were talking about.

Why don't they give Nichols a shot of sodium pentothal, and scare him into naming the real John Doe number 2 ? They wouldn't even have to kill him, just activate a stun gun in front of his face.

Terry Nichols would dish out the name of John Doe number 2. We would have a major Boogaloo Boy indentified. Would they target Nichol's family ? A trap could be set for the bad guys.

But they don't want to pursue it. It like the gov't wants the Boogaloo Boys to do their damage.

5th amendment forbids forcing self-incrimination, I dunno about forcing incriminating information of a 3rd party.

I'm pretty sure it would be temporarily legal, inside a Supermax prison. As legal as anything else, anyway.

Forcing anything on or from anyone is illegal except by due process of law.
