Ironic that the party that coined the phrase "Your in 'merica damn it, speak english"* has just installed a first lady that can barely speak it.

By the way, union wages have gone up. I am not satisfied with the priority Obama placed on passing the card-check legislation, but greater unionization would be a huge step toward overcoming income disparity. I also have more hope for workers' chances of making wage progress in an economy with under 5% unemployment than one with over 8%.

Maybe if that reflected an actual increase in jobs rather than a decrease in those trying to find one.

WASHINGTON — American law enforcement and intelligence agencies are examining intercepted communications and financial transactions as part of a broad investigation into possible links between Russian officials and associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump, including his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, current and former senior American officials said.

The continuing counterintelligence investigation means that Mr. Trump will take the oath of office on Friday with his associates under investigation and after the intelligence agencies concluded that the Russian government had worked to help elect him. As president, Mr. Trump will oversee those agencies and have the authority to redirect or stop at least some of these efforts.

This could prove interesting.

What a mess.
The Trump presidency is one big global embarrassment.

In December of 2008 there were 134.8 Million employed.
In December of 2016 there are 145.3 Million employed.

Bureau of Labor Statistics.

And don't forget that the peak of the baby boomer population is reaching retirement age. Those who are retired are not looking for work.

Your attempted evasion fails.

Here is something very interesting regarding the Trump Hotel in DC. He does not own the building, only leased from the Federal Government.
Quote:

Conflicts that for months have been theoretical are now about to become real — most immediately a possible challenge by the federal government. It owns the building that houses Mr. Trump’s hotel and has granted him a 60-year lease. From the moment he is sworn in as president at noon Friday, Mr. Trump may be in violation of that lease, given a provision that appears to prohibit federal elected officials from renting the Old Post Office building, the Pennsylvania Avenue landmark that houses the hotel, from the government.
Quote:

The lease between the General Services Administration and the Trump company includes a clause — “no member or delegate to Congress, or elected official of the government of the United States or the government of the District of Columbia, shall be admitted to any share or part of this lease, or to any benefit that may arise therefrom” — that federal contract experts say makes clear that Mr. Trump will be in violation of the deal as soon as he is sworn in.
Doubt if Trump will ever give up this property considering the hotel if bound to be full for the next four years by occupants currying favors from him. Minimum nightly room rate is reported to be close to $800!

By now I figure republicans don't care what Trump does. Sell national secrets to the Russians, make billions in profits off his office, eliminate SS, Medicaid, medicare and the ACA, food stamps, turn over the government to select donors....it's all good with republicans. And Trump has the power to quash any investigations.

I expect that at the end of the next four years we will be China.

Uh, I think the term you used is "an actual increase in jobs." The number of the actual increase in jobs was around 10.5 Million. You are on the same plane of honesty as your president.
