The "Me Too" Era comes to NBC: Tom Brokaw accused

Gotta admit - this one is really shocked me.

In a series of interviews with Variety conducted over several months, (Linda) Vester alleged that Brokaw physically tried to force her to kiss him on two separate occasions, groped her in a NBC conference room and showed up at her hotel room uninvited. Two friends who Vester told at the time corroborated her story with Variety, and she shared her journal entries from the time period. Brokaw, who has been married to Meredith Auld since 1962, has never before been publicly accused of sexual harassment.

Actually, it started with NBC and Donny’s Access Hollywood tape. Speaking of disgusting. I don’t remember you starting a thread on it...

Why this one in particular, if you care to explain.

Vester was a correspondent and anchor at NBC until 1999, when she moved to Fox “News”.

Yeah, she has zero credibility. Brokaw isn’t going to take this lying down.

Nobody who takes a paycheck from Rupert has an ounce of integrity.

Over 60 women who worked with Brokaw have signed a letter of support for him. Integrity matters in the age of Fox "News" and Trump. They and Fester have none. Brokaw has it at a Walter Cronkite level. Perhaps moron Donny supporters will learn something about it.

Good letter, and 60 is a lot. I think Vester probably participating in a hit.

Hope better sense prevails and she recants her story.
Or Brokaw can sue her and find out who is behind this.

I think the idea is just to throw mud at the MSM in general. Mission accomplished, unless plot is well exposed.

Actually, this one surprised me because Brokaw never seemed to be the "type"? Married forever to the same woman, didn't seem to hang out on the beltway social circuit, etc.

A couple things from his statement are bothersome:

- He does admit going to her hotel room. He states it was a meeting to discuss her job an mentor her. I've been travelling for business for over 30 years, and I would never, ever enter a female co-workers hotel room unless there were many other folks there. In his statement, he says in retrospect that he "should not have gone" to her room.

- He stated that he went to her apartment while in London, when she invited him there for a drink. He went. And while he states that she sat on one end of the couch and she on the other, he should not have gone. Why? If for no other reason, the potential appearance of impropriety that creates the opportunity for someone to do what Vester is doing now.
