About that "pause" in Global Warming"

"A new independent study shows no pause in global warming, confirming a set of temperature readings adjusted by U.S. government scientists that some who reject mainstream climate science have questioned.
The adjustments, made by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in 2015 to take into account changes in how ocean temperatures have been measured over the decades, riled a House committee and others who claimed the changes were made to show rising temperatures. The House Science Committee subpoenaed the agency's scientists and then complained that NOAA wasn't answering its requests quickly enough." PM

Leaving out that word confirming in your highlight makes it into a fake representation of the meaning of the passage.

It's chilly outside today.

Therefore there is no global warming.

Morons like you are a serious threat for the entire world. Believe me, Tom Joad, the time of YOUR ass is running out as w(h)ell.

It's not getting above freezing here today. Put that in your Global Warming pipe and smoke it. ;)

HarmanKardon 01-06-2017 12:56 PM

Sure, pal.

It's 37 and raining here.

We're forecasted to have three straight morning lows below freezing. First ones of this winter. Then, by the middle of next week, the high's are forecasted to be back in the mid 70's again.

That was due to arson, not global warming.

He said last summer, not last month, unless you are admitting that November, due to climate change, is now part of summer.... :)

And re the summer, you figure an arsonist would assure optimum fire conditions by keeping regional rainfall down and temp up?

mpholland 01-07-2017 08:16 AM

Snapped a photo of the thermometer in my truck the other night. I sure wouldn't mind some local climate change.

Wait 3 days. It will change.

It's 6 degrees here right now. 48 forecast for the coming Tuesday.

merrylander 01-07-2017 11:45 AM

Strange how some minds seem to expect that Global Warming means we will not still have four seasons.

Sad news out of Antarctica yesterday. Big ice shelf busting up. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/ice...ry?id=44598633

Weather and Climate not only are spelled differently but represent two different things describing conditions. One is the right now the other trends in an overview or overall.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather
""Weather is the state of the atmosphere, to the degree that it is hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy.""

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate
""Climate is the statistics of weather, usually over a 30-year interval. It is measured by assessing the patterns of variation in temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, precipitation, atmospheric particle count and other meteorological variables in a given region over long periods of time.""

""Climate differs from weather, in that weather only describes the short-term conditions of these variables in a given region.""

But what does wiki know? When the Donald is the smartest man alive!
