New fuel/emission standards.

Perhaps should be referred to as mandates. Now I have an opinion, but for once in my life, I'm gonna shut my yap and turn it over to the general population.

Any thoughts,
Chas

Ove the years, every time I saw new safety, emissions, or fuel consumption directives handed down by Washington, without fail GM, Ford, and Chrysler always started bitching and complaining about them, but car companies based elsewhere just said "Tell us the standards and we'll meet them".

Let's hope (what's left of the) American carmakers finally just shut up and do it and prove they're just as good as any other car maker on the planet.

Mandatory, and the laws should be twice as tight as the latest standards. We also need to (at the same time) set some zero-emissions goals to work toward, with timelines. It is time to stop fooling around and get busy moving forward, changing the way we think and do business. Our current path has a cliff at the end.
