You're not going to dodge your way out of this one Pete.

You, who have never served a day in the military yourself, have disrespected my fellow Vietnam veteran.

Ah yes, military elitism.

He gave up the right to my respect of his own violation. Besides, I only stated what he actually did. If that's disrespect....

I don't see that being a veteran means one gives up their right to an individual opinion on military/governmental affairs nor the right to protest military actions or policies one believes to be bogus. The whole, "You will respect and praise the military no matter what!" thing is, as Zeke likes to point out, elitist at best, and IMO, disasterous at worst. As I see it, the military is merely a division of the federal government, should face public scrutiny and, yes, even our scorn when malfeasance is discovered.

That being said, individual members of our military, whose personal merits cannot be known to the casual acquaintance should be treated with a basic modicum of respect.

Don't be insincere Pete.

You went out of your way to take a cheap shot at him.

I'm pissed as Hell at the way the Republicans disrespected Kerry as a veteran during the 2004 campaign.

I'm also pissed as Hell at the way they disrespected McCain during the 2000 primaries. Especially in the South Carolina
primary.

How dare these fucking bastards wrap themselves in the flag and them piss on veterans that don't toe the party line? Fuck them.

And most of all I'm pissed as Hell at them sending hundreds of thousands of our troops into harms way for a pack of lies.

God damn them.

God damn them all to Hell.

Agreed. I feel that way as well. When that draft dodger Bush said what he did to McCain I wanted disembowel him slowly, making him eat his own intestines.

But, still the average wing nut thinks it's only Democrats who "disrespect the troops.". Annoying as hell, isn't it?

Oh, and you forgot Max Cleland. Saxby Chambliss should have been forced to cut his own tongue out and wear it on a necklace for the remainder of the campaign.
