Excellent! “Clean, beautiful coal”, lol. Only Trumpkin idiots believed that BS.

Coal Unit at Center of Trump Bailout Bid to Shut 19 Months Early
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...9-months-early Donny is such a moron. Whell and his fellow Trumpkins are worse, still believing this idiot despite all evidence that he has absolutely no clue. |
And Now the Really Big Coal Plants Begin to Close
https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...egin-to-close/ Clean, beautiful coal! |
Pssst. It's because natural gas is so cheap. I work for a large power company. We do gas and coal.

But Gas is cheap. :) We are building up wind and solar but both are really just PR stuff. They don't really pay for themselves - yet. One of the reasons we're doing it is to test the feasibility of using them when juxtaposing the cost and lifespan against the actual power created during that lifespan. |

Be careful who you call a moron. Right now, Trump is the most intelligent president in history, and his voters make up almost 80 percent of LEGAL voters in America. We are very intelligent. We pay taxes so Woke Liberals can live on welfare. (You started the insults.) |

“It’s just the economics keep moving in a direction that favors natural gas and renewables. Five years ago, it was about the older coal plants becoming uneconomic,” said Dan Bakal, senior director of electric power at Ceres, which works with businesses to transition to clean energy. “Now, it’s becoming about every coal unit, and it’s a question of how long they can survive.” What renewables? The article didn't say. It does mention OLDER coal plants. I guess you didn't get the memo that Jim Crow Joe wanted to give China back its favored nation status while unzipping our economy by going back to the failed Paris Accords. I guess you didn't get the memo that China is the biggest coal user and coal producer in the world, and those are hardly clean plants. Coal plant closures have been a feature of U.S. power markets for the better part of a decade, as stagnant demand, low natural gas prices and increasing competition from renewables have battered the coal fleet. Works for me. I have investments in Louisiana natural gas, which by the way IS a fossil fuel. What I'm amazed at is how NONE of you liberals here have even come close to mentioned mountaintop strip mining for coal. Look it up. It'll horrify you. Michael Crichton once said that the free market will move us from one outdated technology to a newer one in time, just as it did from using horses to using oil for transportation. No reasonable person denies that. What we have a problem with is a senile old man throwing THOUSANDS of breadwinners out of work based on a MYTH of climate change. |
^^ For the sake of reference, which county in Florida do you reside in so I can better evaluate your intelligence.
