Given the intellectual capacity of the average voter I don't doubt it.

All this BS about NAFTA really shows that to be true. Canada actually has labour laws unlike the USA. Unions are respected and work on behalf of their members. Companies honour their commitments - or I would be in trouble as Bell still pays my pension after all these years. Whereas when the US owned Iron Ore company was in Quebec they used to say, yessir America got the ore and we got the shaft. yet people here still believe everything the Donald tells them. The Rust Belt is a combination of management stupidity and corruption. After the war Germany and Japan had to rebuild their steel mills and while they were doing that we had the market to ourselves. Did they think to modernize our outdated mills? Hell no, they just spent the profits on frippery. When the foreign mills came online they ate our lunch.
