How the Government Killed Martin Luther King, Jr.
I've heard very little about this.
Anyone think there is anything to it? I certainly don't trust the government to tell the truth. http://readersupportednews.org/opini...luther-king-jr How the Government Killed Martin Luther King, Jr. Quote:

Last year, I went to the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis (in the old Lorraine Hotel where he was shot). A number of the exhibits made it pretty clear to me that the government was definitely involved in his shooting.

Anything is possible. I know the powers that be was terrified of King's enormous influence and especially his ability to awaken white folks' conscience. |
This is something I really have no knowledge about.
I think I'm going to check out some things on the net. Starting with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmoPSUTazvQ |
Here's the NY Time's report, from 1999, on the civil trial in Memphis: http://www.nytimes.com/1999/12/09/us...s-killing.html
I tend not to believe in big conspiracies, and this seems pretty big. I tend to go with the narrowest possible interpretation of actual facts. I'd be interested in what the evidence was that you saw, Finn. |

Though Memphis is mostly a pretty dumpy city, it's well worth a visit for a music fan. Sun & Stax Studios and Graceland are all interesting and it's not far down to Clarksdale in the Delta. My wife and I did a "Blues Pilgrimage" there last year. |

Look up "Furry sings the blues" by Joni Mitchell off Hejira on Youtube.

Take it from me, busting out of the Missouri State Penitentiary wasn't an easy nut to crack.
And even if someone pulled it off, why the hell would they go shoot Martin Luther King? When I worked there, James Earl Ray was the only SOB to bust out in something like 100 yrs. L Hall was different, they, including I, turned them loose every day. But behind the walls, forget it. I always smelled a rat over the MLK assassination. The average con, once they get out, is going to get drunk, get some pussy, and try to lay low. They AREN'T gong to go assassinate a political figure of that magnitude...unless someone makes it worth their trouble. And if they're lying low...how the hell is anyone going to find them to make it worth their trouble? Chas |
That's right, Chas.
I've always believed our own government killed JFK too. I find it hard to believe a "lone gunman" would kill the POTUS. It certainly is possible, but what would one man stand to gain? It's far more likely that there are much more powerful people behind it, who stand to gain much. Both MLK and JFK were men who had stepped on the toes of such people. Dave |
