The Day The Earth Nearly Died

The Permian Extinction wiped out about 95% of all life on earth (including all sea life). Here's a BBC documentary discussing the research into the causes. It's about an hour long.

More of Al Gores fabrications.

I'll bet they couldn't get Republicans to believe that was coming either.;)

The theories of Earth's history get more and more fantastic. At one point 'they' believe we were a frozen iceball now too.

The universe is an incredibly dangerous place.

Frozen iceball I can see. Dust and rocks slowly accumulating from an accretion disc I can see. A mythical, mystical being commanding "Let there be a big ball of dirt with plants-n-animals-n-peoples-n-stuff on it so's I can play around and work my mysterious ways with it!" is the fantastical fairytale I don't buy.;)

Yeh, they're called ice ages, Pete. Stop taking that psuedo History channel crap as gospel.:D

LOL! Oh I'm skeptical :) Don't read Hedonistic Heinlein anymore.

This theoretical one was far worse than just an ice age. The boffins haven't been able to figure out how it was reversed.

So the planets gonna heat up and we're all gonna die. Quick, let's attempt to put a mop bucket under Niagra Falls - and fail at that.

The real problem is overpopulation....

And, being a pro-lifer, what do you propose we do about that? Isn't every zygote a "Blessing from God" and every sperm sacred?
