Ever
https://www.yahoo.com/sy/ny/api/res/...rn-find-1v.jpg https://www.yahoo.com/news/74-vw-bee...140005184.html I owned a 1971 VW till the mid 80's but alas not a Beetle but a square back, lot less noisy (and fuel injected) and was mainly our camping vehicle. |
Thanks for sharing! Mommy once had the 1975 convertible!

This was my first car - 1968 Beetle with sun roof!
|
Mine was a '60 convertible.
|
My first VW was assembled in PA. FWD, manual, leaded gas and driving it was a gas.
|
Had a '68 bug sometime in the 1970s.

My first was a 63 Beetle at 16, had four others. Even a 68 Autoshift and 74 SB at one time. Still own a Red 70 KG the wife and I bought in 77.

I had several bugs (68 and 72) and a 78 super beetle. good in snow but the only part of your body that is warm is your ankle closest to the vent.

My very first car was actually a 1956 Beetle convertible. It was a gift of an old man. I was 17 back then. It was totally corroded so I sold it for about 150 Euros. The buyer restored it. And now it is in an as new condition and the value is about 30000 Euros.
Picture from 1979 shows the car on the left, on the right the 1975 convertible of my mother. |
My first car was a '68 Beetle. It was a gas in the snow -- really built well for donuts. Also had a VW bus. Darn thing cost me about 15 albums. When I moved back from school one year, I had a rack of records too close to the back vent. Hard to play a wavy record.

I learned to drive a stick in my neighbor's '65 VW station wagon. Didn't realize how easy the VW was until I got hold of my other neighbor's '48 Dodge pickup and had to learn to double-clutch.

No, I figure he means this model, called a 'Type 3' or a Squareback.

I remember the blue "Super Beetle" my brother and his first wife had. Not sure what year it was.

In 2010 we had a nice VW Classic Cars meeting. The picture shows the extremely rare 1949 Hebmüller convertible. As a collector's item the value is now 130000 Euros, if in top condition. This one from Belgium is in a rather columbo-ish condition, you know what I mean...

"columbo-ish condition".
Ha! Exactly. :D |
