Avenatti 2020

Looks like Avenatti is getting ready for a shot at POTUS in 2020.
Not a fan but he should make the campaign really interesting.
He is a skilled operator, extremely media savvy, knows when and where to punch and more than capable of shaming Trump. Hope he runs and could really mix up the election landscape. The Dem's do not have a real candidate anyway.

Michael Avenatti Says He's In Iowa To Explore A Run For President
Quote:

In an interview with the Des Moines Register on Thursday, the outspoken lawyer for adult film star Stormy Daniels, who is suing the president over the validity of a nondisclosure agreement to not discuss an affair, traveled to the Iowa State Fair this week on a listening tour.

“I’m exploring a run for the presidency of the United States, and I wanted to come to Iowa and listen to people and learn about some issues that are facing the citizens of Iowa and do my homework,” Avenatti told the Register.
I am more and more convinced he will make a serious run at this since there is no leading Dem party contender, or at least no one posturing yet that I have seen. There is talk of Biden but have not seen him make any moves yet. Of course no more superdelegates taking sides before the convention and voting.

Meh. He's a vanity candidate, imo.

And I was looking for a term, a description and "gadfly" just did not fit.

A Vanity Candidate.

Yeah it is time to project people of substance.
It is time to return to people with experience and knowledge of governance.

Avenatti doesn't have anything close to a Trump history of civil suit trouble that includes accusations of business associates being stiffed for big money. But it's still pretty impressive.

The question is...will American voters be as happy to excuse that behavior in Avenatti as they have been to excuse it in Trump?

So far I don't believe Avenatti will appeal to the same fucked up segments of the electorate as Trump. But you never know bvb how someone desirous of public office will behave when campaigning.
