'Bill Jr' interview.

AKA Tony Blair :)

Anyone see it? While I don't agree with most of his political outlook, I've learned in general that the Brits have a, um, more developed worldview overall.

"[T]his is actually more like the phenomenon of revolutionary communism. It's the religious or cultural equivalent of it, and its roots are deep, its tentacles are long, and its narrative about Islam stretches far further than we think into even parts of mainstream opinion who abhor the extremism, but sort of buy some of the rhetoric that goes with it,..."

Just thought it was interesting....

he's full of crap.

Iraq was contained. Saddam was a text book sociopath, a bully/coward. He would have never done anything to cause the US to attack as we did in Afghanistan.

I agree with his view on Iran.

piece-itpete 09-07-2010 03:21 PM

Nah, Saddam NEVER would've opened fire on USAF planes.

Wait a minute...

;)

It appears Europe is serious about a non-nuclear Iran. If they bomb them I will have to reassess them.

You mean the ones overflying his territory and harassing his ground crews?

Actually the were mostly afraid to turn on the SAM5 radars as the missiles would fly down the beam and blow them up.

Pete I love ya but I doubt Europe cares about your assessment of them. I think their assessment of "our" country would preclude them from giving a rats ass about what we think. Frankly, I don't blame them.

They should care, they've been riding on our backs for decades now.

And not the planes that were harrassing them, but the ones who were enforcing the treaty signed after we kicked them out of Kuwait ;)

we should have been clear to Saddam before he went into Kuwait then we would not have had to kick him out

Yup! They rode us right into Kuwait, they rode us into Kosovo, they rode us right into Iraq and then they rode us into Afghanistan. Freakin' freeloaders!

And harassing them in the process.

We were clear. We told him we didn't have a stake in any "arab/arab" disputes.
