Partisan News

I was watching a video link provided by Grumpy in another thread this morning and when the story was complete it rolled into the next story.
Here is that "next story."

http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video0...dropped-obama/

(Fox does not provide a direct link so you need to click on the second story.
Obama playing golf on Memorial Day.)

I don't care if you are Keith Oberman, the lesbian that follows him, the nut job at 5pm on Fox (eastern time) or Hannity, I have had it with partisan news.
Especially hate news which these folks and others practice.
Personally I am gonna make an effort to avoid this crap.
I don't see how this can be good for the country.
Yes, the country is clearly divided. Best I can figure is that about 20% are wing nuts, 10% liberal loonies 20% disinterested and about 50% regular folk who side left on some issues and right on some.
For the media to have taken sides to represent their little radical group is plain old fashioned un American to me.
Do you think this is healthy?

That is why we never watch Fox nor MSNBC or Blitzer and Dobbs.

Grumpy 06-01-2009 06:53 AM

CNN, Washington post and the NY times are all about the same.

Hmmmmm....Wonder how far I'd get if I dressed up in a Confederate general's uniform & parked myself in front of a polling place in a black neighborhood ?!? Of course, around here, I'd spend the rest of the day talking & visiting, because everybody here knows everybody else, black & white, usually going back several generations. I couldn't ever really show my ass like that in front of people I consider my friends, anyway. Some of the older black ladies would prolly tell me to go home & change my clothes, & since a couple of 'em about half raised me, I'd put my tail between my legs, drop my head, go "Yes, Ma'am", & do it...

Curious, who do you think is relatively fair and balanced?

AFAIK, Walter Cronkite.

Seriously, I try to read news from all the major feeds with my bullshit filter engaged. I know I am not always fully informed, or even half informed sometimes, but I do the best I can with the information presented.

Any rousing recommendations welcome.

That story actually surprised me, but it shouldn't have. I wonder if the Panthers will get some stimulus money......................like acorn.

Lehrer on PBS and the BBC news. I would also go with CBC if we were within range.
