Trump and the USW
Trump gets up in front of the cameras and brags about the billions that American steelmakers are now pulling in, (ostensibly because of him). And shortly thereafter the USW takes a vote and announces that soon 15,000 to 16,000 steelworkers across the nation may soon walk off the job. Why?
Because the negotiations have stalled over what the union claims are concessionary demands from management. Let's see; Times are bad? Management demands concessions. Times are good? Management demands concessions. Trump brags that the industry has never been in better shape? The industry cries poverty and demands concessions. So much for the Conservative belief that lower corporate taxes, deregulation and trade barriers will have American workers rolling in cash. Gee, who could've seen this coming? And yet, in interviews of steelworkers poised to strike we discover folks who staunchly support Trump and believe he truly is the workin' mans friend. They seem to think, as one man put it, "Trump should sit down with management and demand they stop being such assholes.". What do you fellas make of that? I think it's hilarious. |
In Czarist Russia, a typical lament of the oppressed peasants was "If only the Czar knew what was happening, he'd put things right!"

By now I should be over being surprised by the rantings of the adolescent in charge and his followers.
Then their is yet another then another lie. Our nations dilemma, believing dare I say expecting one who holds this office to be once there respectful of the office and the people. Not brazenly out just for themselves. |
