Benito Aquino, killed by the CIA?
 

I was listening to a program on Sirius satellite last night, and they were talking about the assasination of former Philipine President Benito Aquino.

At the time we were told that he was killed by communist guerillas. But apparently there has been a "Zapruder" type video going around, wherein you can plainly see that he was shot in the head at close range by a man in a black trenchcoat. The guest in the show (Don't recall his name.) claimed he was killed by the CIA and that it had something to do with Aquinos vow to evict the US Military from the bases there.

I caught the tail end of the show, and didn't get much more info than that.
But I do know we ended up closing those bases anyways.

Anyone have more info?

Been researching this. Load of crap. I believe he was killed by Marcos.

I think I remember this from when it happened. Aquino was killed as he disembarked from a plane. He was shot at close range. The film was shown widely on US TV.

As I remember there was never any question that Marcos and not communists was behind it. That belief on the part of the Philippines people was instrumental in overthrowing the Marcos regime.

I suppose the CIA could have set it up for Marcos but I doubt it. His people were perfectly capable of such a crude assassination.
