We have two year 2000 Chev Impala's sitting in our garage that say y'all are nuts. Funny how the media kissed Toyota's ass while they were sending people in hi speed wild drives. But let an American company have a recall and it hits the fan.

On the other hand, I own two 2002 GM vehicles that has never seen any down time. :)

I've owned over 30 vehicles, mostly Fords with a few GM vehicles and a couple of foreign cars and Chryslers. Other than basic maintenance I've never had anything serious with the Fords. Can't say the same for the GM vehicles. On top of that GM makes some uncomfortable seats.
Ford is on the top of my list, with Chrysler next, then foreign cars, and GM somewhere down at the bottom.

My driveway has 2 Toyotas and a Mazda. My wife's 2005 Toyota Sienna has been absolutely bullet-proof with 140K miles on the clock. The Ford Windstar before it was easily the most unreliable car we've ever owned.

I will say something for Chrysler. My grandparents bought a new Grand Caravan in 1996. They gave it to away in 2006, with over 350,000 miles on it. The van was still in good shape, considering it had 10 years of grandkids riding in it. The only thing he did besides the regular stuff, is a new transmission. The new owner drove it for a while after that, until it got totaled.
