... which is, IMO, why half the time it doesn't matter who's in the White House.

John Linder's "Fair Tax" would put an end to this kind of stuff. I would urge everyone to study HR 25 and learn how it would work rather than dismiss it out of hand.

In Obama's defense, he swore that taxes would not go up one dime if you make less than 250k. I'm willing to bet it won't be one dime.:rolleyes:

But but but but Dave, we need raise taxes to cover the money we piss away on subsidizing cars, and NYC flyovers, and life sentenced prisoners, and food stamps, and...I got work to do.

I'll give you the others but food stamps are an important safety net, IMHO of course.

Someone has to pay for all of this. If you've got two nickles to rub together, you're gonna pay.

Case in point. We got hit by the AMT (millionaires tax), probably due to my sly maneuver of paying myself very little on payroll but taking dividends from the corporation. We ain't millionaires by a long shot. Seems like when this law was passed, it was to catch a hand full of the rich who figured out a way around income tax. Now podunks like me are getting caught by it, never was indexed for inflation.

But what do I know, I'm just a poor slob working for the "man".
