Anyone Remember Boblo?

If you grew up in or around Detroit, you probably had fond memories of Boblo Island, and a ride on the Boblo Boats to get there. Here's a collage of pics that capture some of the history of the Island and the Columbia and Ste Claire Boblo boats that got you there.

Hopefully someday the boats will be restored to their former glory.

The boats will return to their former glory when Trump makes us great again.

Lol. It’s awfully cute that Whell thinks anyone here gives a rat’s ass about his cherished memories, when he tries so very hard to be like his hero, the psychopathic Steven Miller.

Guys, this is the part of the forum where folks go to get away from political discussion for a while. Please save your snark and insults for the other sections.

Thanks.

You reap what you sow, especially here where the memories are long and words are razor sharp. Suffer whell or write a book called 'What Happened' :D.

Never heard of it, thanx for the nostalgia break.

Yeah, but I don't "sew" anything political in this section of the forum. Knock it off!

Sadly, the history of racial tensions in Detroit, like other cities, are not unique. The article you posted mentions "Black Bottom". Had both a uniquely prosperous and then a uniquely sad and rapid decline. Here's some info:

Lafayette Park is still there, and that area is experiencing a bit of a revival. Its home to a number of Mexican owned businesses and restaurants. Some awesome places to go eat and hang out.
