I can smell the burning chaparral down here on the coast from the Anaheim Hills fire and I'm at least 20 miles as the crow flies from it. Local weather reports are calling for Santa Ana winds for the next few days. Yippee.

You guys are creating enough smoke to block my mountain view here in central Oregon. Fresh snow on it too! It is almost as smoky as when we had the fires burning here a short time ago.

Stay safe down there.

It was smokey here yesterday. At work they handed out face masks (the paper kind like they use in hospitals).
Today the air not so bad.

PG&E shares dropped 11% today. State has asked them to preserve any evidence they may have regarding power lines downed by winds, possibly due to lax maintenance.

Thankfully some years ago I bought a real nice respirator at home depot. I needed an Rx refill, so I got the mask and went out and found a nice light coating of ash on my car. So I turned the hose on it and by the time I returned home again I had a light coating of ash/mud. Air really sucks here everyday so I am staying inside as much as possible. At least no more 106 degree days.

Here we go again. The city of Malibu is under mandatory evacuation. Another fire in Griffith Park up in LA. Weather is hot and extremely dry.

'The Woolsey Fire made a destructive march through Ventura and Los Angeles counties on Friday, destroying numerous suburban homes, closing freeways and causing portions of cities from Calabasas and Thousand Oaks to Malibu to be evacuated.
The 8,000-acre fire jumped the 101 Freeway Friday morning and was making a march toward the Pacific Ocean, fueled by dry conditions and extreme winds. Its rapid movement overnight prompted thousands of people to run from their homes as the flames came close.' LA Times
